Glenn Close to Host 'Live From Lincoln Center' Holiday Broadcast

Jazz at Lincoln Center's annual holiday concert, "Red Hot Holiday Stomp," will be hosted by Glenn Close in a live broadcast on PBS's Live From Lincoln Center next month.

Deborah Voigt to Open Lincoln Center's 2008 American Songbook Series
22 Oct 2007 -- Soprano superstar Deborah Voigt will open the tenth season of Lincoln Center's acclaimed American Songbook series, which celebrates the diversity and richness of the American popular song repertoire. The 2008 season, which runs Jan. 23 through March 1 in the Allen Room of Jazz at Lincoln Center's Rose Hall, will also feature solo concerts by John Lloyd Young, Christine Ebersole and Kelli O'Hara as well as evenings that celebrate the songs of Leonard Bernstein, Charles Strouse and David Yazbek.

Jazz Pianist Joe Zawinul Dies at 75
11 Sep 2007 -- Joe Zawinul, jazz fusion pioneer and founder of the jazz-rock group Weather Report, died today in Vienna at 75. He had been suffering from a rare form of skin cancer, reported the Austria Press Agency.
