Lyric Opera Guild Gala to Feature Clayton, Kuznetsova

The Lyric Opera of Chicago Guild will hold its annual fundraiser on January 27 at the Civic Opera House.

The theme of the black-tie event, which begins at 6:30 p.m., is "A Viennese Fantasy," marking the opening of the Lyric's production of Strauss's Der Rosenkavalier on February 4.

A cabaret performance in the Civic Opera House's Ardis Krainik Theatre will feature Lyric singers including David Cangelosi, Beth Clayton, Dina Kuznetsova, Bruce Sledge, Stacey Tuppan, Tonya Currier, Ofelia Sala, and Lauren Curnow. The singers will perform arias, jazz standards, Broadway tunes, and the trio from Der Rosenkavalier.

The evening will also include food from Chicago restaurants, a silent auction, and a raffle.
