The Three Tenors Announce Final Concert
By Emily Quinn
February 10, 2005
The Three Tenors will give their last performance together on June 4, the Miami Herald reports.
Plácido Domingo, José Carreras, and Luciano Pavarotti will sing in an inaugural concert for the Universal Forum of Cultures 2007 in Monterrey, Mexico.
Mexican singer Alejandro Fernández will sing with the famous trio—the first time they have invited anyone to perform with them in concert.
The three world-famous singers first performed together during the World Cup in 1990 in Rome. Their concerts proved so popular that the singers went on to perform together more than 30 times in venues all over the world, and to record a number of bestselling albums.
Pavarotti has said that he will retire entirely from performing when he turns 70 later this year. He is currently on a farewell tour.
