Royal Concertgebouw Orchestra and Jansons to Tour U.S. Coasts

By Matthew Westphal
12 Dec 2007

The Royal Concertgebouw Orchestra of Amsterdam — which was named one of the top two symphony orchestras in Europe in a critics' poll last year — will make a five-city tour of the U.S. East and West Coasts in January and February of next year.

One highlight of the visit will be the orchestra's first performances in Walt Disney Concert Hall in Los Angeles. In addition to those two concerts, the RCO will play two programs in San Francisco's Davies Symphony Hall, single appearances at Symphony Hall in Boston and Washington's Kennedy Center, and a three-concert series at Carnegie Hall in New York.

On the podium will be the acclaimed maestro Mariss Jansons, the RCO's chief conductor since 2004 and formerly the music director of the Pittsburgh Symphony (1996-2004).

The tour schedule and programs are below. For information and tickets, contact the host venues.
