Lincoln Triangle Barnes & Noble to Present Discussion/Performance of New York City Opera's Margaret Garner Sept. 10

By Matthew Westphal
27 Aug 2007

In connection with New York City Opera's upcoming production of Richard Danielpour's Margaret Garner, with a libretto by Nobel Prize winner Toni Morrison based on her novel Beloved, the Lincoln Triangle Barnes & Noble on Manhattan's Upper West Side is presenting a free discussion of the work on September 10.

City Opera dramaturge Cori Ellison will be on hand to talk about the new opera and answer questions; performing excerpts from the work will be mezzo-soprano Krysty Swann and pianist William Barto Jones.

The Lincoln Triangle branch of Barnes & Noble is located at Broadway and West 65th St. in Manhattan. The event, which is free and open to the public, begins at 7 pm on Monday, September 10.

More information about the New York City Opera run of Margaret Garner, which begins on September 11, is available at www.nycopera.com.
