Luciano Pavarotti was hospitalized last night for tests after a "physician noted that his temperature was raised," his manager Terri Robson said today.

The tenor was vacationing at his seaside home in Pesaro, Italy, and taken to a Modena clinic.

"He remains under observation," she said. "It is expected that the doctors will release him from the hospital in the next few days."

The 71-year-old underwent pancreatic surgery last year and was reported as responding well to cancer treatment last month.
