They might be the riot grrrlz of chamber music.
Violinist Nadja Salerno-Sonnenberg and pianist Anne Marie McDermott, two artists known for their intense, forceful and sometimes unorthodox playing, make their only New York appearance together this season on Sunday, May 20 at Town Hall in midtown Manhattan.
The program, part of the 2007 Free for All at Town Hall series, features all three of the sonatas for violin and piano by Johannes Brahms.
The concert, to which admission is free, begins at 5 p.m. at Town Hall, at 123 West 43rd Street (between Sixth and Seventh Avenues, near Times Square). Tickets (two per person) will be distributed on a first come, first served basis at Town Hall's box office starting at noon the day of the concert. (The organizers remind us that, while many people line up in advance for tickets, only very rarely have supplies run out before concert time.)
