Due to a death in his family, pianist Yefim Bronfman has withdrawn from tomorrow evening's "Gil Shaham and Friends" all-Brahms chamber program at Carnegie Hall's Zankel Hall. He will be replaced by Akira Eguchi.

The concert, headlined by Shaham and also featuring violinist Cho-Liang Lin, violist Cynthia Phelps and cellist Lynn Harrell, includes Brahms's Scherzo in C minor for violin and piano, Piano Trio No. 1 and Piano Quintet.

Eguchi, known as both pianist and harpsichordist, made his New York recital debut in 1992 at Alice Tully Hall and has since performed in many of the world's great venues. He is a frequent collaborator with Shaham and will be on stage for the final "Gil Shaham and Friends" concert, also an all-Brahms program, at Zankel Hall on May 2.

Bronfman was also obliged to withdraw on short notice, due to family illness, from his appearance last weekend with the Philadelphia Orchestra under guest conductor Neeme Järvi.
