Tenor Kim Begley has withdrawn due to illness from the remainder of the current run of Janácek's Jenufa at the Metropolitan Opera.

As a result, Jorma Silvasti will return to the role of Laca for the last three performances, on February 10 (evening), 14 and 17 (matinee).

Silvasti sang Laca at the beginning of the run, on January 29 and February 2. He had been scheduled to move to the role of Steva for the remaining performances, with Begley taking over Laca. This switch of roles happened as planned on February 6, but now that Begley is unable to perform, the plan is no longer workable.

On February 10, Raymond Very will sing Steva, as he did for the first two performances; casting for February 14 and 17 will be announced later.
