Radio listeners across the nation will now be able to tune in to New Jersey Symphony Orchestra broadcasts, reports New Jersey's Star-Ledger.

The NJSO already broadcasts its concerts with music director Neeme Järvi across the state; now, as part of its arrangement with New York's WQXR (96.3 FM), performances with Järvi taped during the orchestra's 2005-2006 season will be syndicated by the WFMT Radio Network, according to the paper.

The 13-week series will be broadcast in 50 markets nationwide; some stations will begin to air the concerts in October, others next January.

The WFMT Radio Network, an international production and syndication operation affiliated with WFMT-FM in Chicago, also syndicates series by ensembles including the New York Philharmonic, Seattle Symphony, Milwaukee Symphony, Israel Philharmonic and Vienna Philharmonic as well as several major German orchestras.

WFMT Radio Network senior vice president Steve Robinson told the Star-Ledger that the WFMT Network audience is "interested in a range of orchestras from around the world. The NJSO brings a different sound to the mix. Järvi is a great conductor, the repertoire is interesting, and there are guest soloists of real quality."

Robinson told the paper that as many as 250,000 people per week could tune in for the NJSO series. The broadcasts will also be streamed via www.wqxr.com.
