The Metropolitan Opera Guild will present an interview with soprano Aprile Millo on May 4 at Lincoln Center's Kaplan Penthouse.
Millo will discuss her career and the lead role in Puccini's Tosca, which she sings at the Met on May 16, with writer Bridget Palolucci.
The May 16 performance of Tosca will also star Eduardo Villa as Cavaradossi and James Morris as Scarpia. Earlier in the run, which begins on April 22, Deborah Voigt, Franco Farina, and Morris will star; Carlo Rizzi is the conductor.
Milo made her debut with the Met in June 1984, singing Elvira in Ernani in New York-area parks; in December of that year, she appeared at the Metropolitan Opera House for the first time, singing Amelia in Simon Boccanegra.
She has since sung Elizabeth in Don Carlo, Aida, Liù in Turandot, Luisa Miller, Amelia in Un ballo in maschera, Leonora in Il trovatore, Maddalena in Andrea Chénier, Margherita and Elena in Mefistofele, Desdemona in Otello, and Giselda in I Lombardi, as well as Tosca, with the company. She also appeared in the 1993 pension fund concert and the galas marking the 25th anniversary of the company's move to Lincoln Center, the 25th anniversary of James Levine's debut, and New Year's Eve 1999.
