English National Opera's production of Offenbach's La Belle Hélène, directed by Laurent Pelly and with Felicity Lott in the title role, opened on last night and runs through May 19.
The production, which originated at the Théâtre du Châtelet in Paris, also stars Toby Spence as Paris, Bonaventura Bottone as Menelaus, and Steven Page as Calchas.
Agathe Mélinand is the associate director. Sets and costumes are by Chantal Thomas and Pelly, respectively. Lighting is by Joël Adam.
