The Metropolitan Opera has named the last of the conductors who will substitute for the injured James Levine this spring. Philippe Auguin will replace Levine on the podium for Wagner's Lohengrin, which runs April 17-May 6.

Levine canceled all of his remaining performances at the Met this season after falling and injuring his shoulder on March 1. He will undergo surgery to repair a torn rotator cuff on March 20.

Lohengrin stars Karita Mattila as Elsa, Luana DeVol as Ortrud, and Ben Heppner as Lohengrin. The production is Robert Wilson's controversial 1998 staging.

Auguin, the former music director of Nuremburg Opera, debuted at the Met in 2001 and was seen most recently there in November and December 2005 leading La bohème. He has also conducted at La Scala, Covent Garden, Los Angeles Opera, and elsewhere.

The other substitute conductors, who have been named over the course of this week, are Paul Nadler (Fidelio), Maurizio Benini and Derrick Inouye (a new production of Don Pasquale), and Peter Schneider (Parsifal).

Levine will also miss scheduled performances on the Met's tour of Japan in June. Replacements have not yet been announced.
