A recording of Mozart violin concertos by Anne-Sophie Mutter and a new La traviata with Anna Netrebko and Rolando Villazón debuted on the Billboard classical chart this week.

On her new CD, Mutter conducts the London Philharmonic as well as acting as soloist in Concertos Nos. 1-5 and the Sinfonia concertante; violist Yuri Bashmet joins her for the latter.

La traviata, recorded at the Salzburg Festival this summer, featured Netrebko as Violetta, Villazón as Alfredo, and Thomas Hampson as Giorgio. Carlo Rizzi conducted the Vienna Philharmonic.

Cecilia Bartoli's Opera Proibita remained at number one, with Renée Fleming's Sacred Songs at number two and André Rieu's The Flying Dutchman at number three.

Other new entries includes Harvest Home, a collection of folk and sacred music from the now-disbanded Dale Warland Singers, at number 11 and a recording of Mahler's First Symphony from Mahler specialist Benjamin Zander and the Philharmonia Orchestra at number 16.

Il Divo continues to dominate the classical-crossover chart: The Christmas Collection remained at number one for the third straight week and Il Divo moved from number three to number two. The Il Divo Gift Pack, which combines the two albums, debuted on the chart this week at number 12.
