Kiri Te Kanawa

Kiri Te Kanawa is facing a lawsuit from an Australian promoter after withdrawing from three concerts earlier this year, The Australian reports.

The New Zealand-born soprano was scheduled to perform in February with Australian pop singer John Farnham in Sydney and Melbourne. The program was billed as "Two Great Voices."

Leading Edge Events, the promoter of the concerts, is seeking A$300,000 from Te Kanawa, claiming that it spent that money promoting the shows before she dropped out.
