Las Vegas Philharmonic Announces 2005-06 Season

By Ben Mattison
22 May 2005

The Las Vegas Philharmonic's 2005-06 season will include visits from the National Symphony Orchestra and violinist Jennifer Frautschi, the orchestra announced.

The season is the Philharmonic's seventh and the last full season for founding music director Harold Weller, who will retire during 2006-07.

The NSO, conducted by music director Leonard Slatkin, will give a benefit for the Philharmonic on October 26. Frautschi will perform Khachaturian's Violin Concerto in a concert that will also include the premiere of a new work by George Walker in honor of the centennial of Las Vegas.

The season will also include all-Mozart, all-Beethoven, and all-Mahler concerts.
