James Levine

Conductor James Levine will be a guest on the PBS talk show Charlie Rose tonight.

Levine, the longtime conductor of the Metropolitan Opera, is approaching the end of his much-discussed first season as music director of the Boston Symphony. A champion of new and American music, Levine led newly commissioned works by Milton Babbitt, John Harbison, and Charles Wuorinen at the BSO this season.

Charlie Rose can be seen on more than 200 public television stations around the country. In New York, tonight's episode will be broadcast on Channel Thirteen/WNET at 11:30 p.m. and be repeated tomorrow at 1:30 p.m. Check local listings.
