Renée Fleming to Appear on CBS's Late Late Show

Soprano Renée Fleming is scheduled to appear on CBS's The Late Late Show with Craig Ferguson on Monday, January 17.

The late night talk show, revamped with newcomer Craig Ferguson taking over hosting duties from Craig Kilborn, will be broadcast at 12:30 a.m. EST late Monday night. Check local listings.

Fleming's book, The Inner Voice, was published in November by Viking. It includes stories about Fleming's career as well as her thoughts on such issues as arts education and music downloading. Meanwhile, the opera star's new CD of Handel arias (Decca Classics) is currently ranked #2 on Billboard's classical music chart.

Fleming made her Metropolitan Opera debut in 1991 as the Countess in Le nozze di Figaro and has returned there many times. Among her other signature roles are Desdemona in Verdi's Otello, Amelia in Simon Boccanegra, and the Marschallin in Der Rosenkavalier. She appeared in the world premieres of John Corigliano's The Ghosts of Versailles, Conrad Susa's Dangerous Liaisons, and André Previn's A Streetcar Named Desire.
