DORIAN GRAY: Dorian should read in his early twenties and be the picture of beauty and innocence. An upper class Brit. He stays the same age throughout the play.
LORD HENRY (HARRY): Harry is ten years older than Dorian, a wit, a manipulator, a hedonist, and a perfect member of upper crust British Society. He ages up to near fifty by the end of the play.
BASIL HALLWARD: Basil is roughly the same age as Harry, also upper class, but not as society-oriented as Lord Henry. He is an artist, and is introspective. He is also in love with Dorian, and leads what we might call a closeted existence. He, like Lord Henry, ages in the course of the play.
All roles are open to actors of all ethnic and cultural backgrounds.
