Technical/FOH Jobs For The Sorceress
This December, The National Yiddish Theatre Folksbiene will be producing a moderately staged and costumed workshop production of the Yiddish play, The Sorceress by Avrom Goldfaden. The 1879 operetta is a fairy-tale like story of an innocent young heroine, her wicked stepmother, dashing fiancé, an itinerant peddler and a local witch set to a delightful musical score full of memorable tunes. In Yiddish with English translation supertitles. At this time, we are still looking to fill a few technical roles: set designer who can do projections, lighting designer and lighting programmer, costume designer, assistant costume designer/wardrobe, costume dresser/stitcher, sound designer who can also function as an A1 with lots of Broadway musical-type mixing experience and an A2 as well. We will also need a Production Manager with good crew contacts and a Box Office Assistant who is patient and kind and who knows the Ovation System. Rehearsals are December 19th – 23rd with a Tech Rehearsal on the 24th and then 5 performances from December 25th – January 1st. Pay for these positions are flat fees from $500 - $1,400 for full run.
