SCORPIO ENTERTAINMENT/CTI INTERNSHIP
New York, NY 10019
Scorpio Entertainment/CTI Internship
Start date: January 2018
End Date: June 2018
In conjunction with Richard Frankel Productions and BFV Theatrical Management, Scorpio Entertainment has been working as an independent theatrical production company and general management company since 1985. Our partnership produces plays and musicals, and manages and provides integrated production, management, and marketing services.
This particular intern assists with the management of the Commercial Theater Institute (CTI) and attends its events. A joint venture of the industry umbrella organization, The Broadway League, and the leading not-for-profit supporter of Broadway, the Theatre Development Fund, CTI allows course participants to gain an overview of the work of a Broadway producer or focus on the subjects that interest them in great detail. For more information, please visit the CTI website: www.commercialtheaterinstitute.com.
Interns attend regular seminars during which staff members and other theatrical professionals discuss specific topics. The dress code is casual and there is a creative working environment. Interns receive hands on experience in their area of interest. As jobs are generally hired from within, internships at RFP/BFV have proven to be a great starting point for many theatre management professionals.
The internship is full-time, Monday through Friday 10am - 6pm, and a $100 travel/food reimbursement is provided. Interns must be organized, possess excellent communication and writing skills, have the ability to thrive in a high paced work environment, have excellent problem-solving skills, and be self-motivated. Some responsibilities include serving as event staff at CTI courses, completing weekly CTI enrollment reports, corresponding with CTI participants, running errands, filing, copying/scanning, researching, answering phones, taking minutes at meetings, and completing various other special projects. The availability to work occasional evening hours, a valid driver’s license, and comfort driving a van are a plus, but are not required.
To apply, please visit our website at www.rfpny.com and go to the Internship section. Please fill out an online application and e-mail your cover letter and resume to firstname.lastname@example.org with the subject line “Scorpio/CTI Producing Internship.” We will contact you for an interview once we have received your resume and application.
