Aspen Music Festival and School – Production Manager (Meadows Campus) 

The Production Manager of the AMFS Meadows Campus supervises the general operation and production staff of the two primary performance venues of the AMFS – the Benedict Music Tent and Harris Concert Hall. This position is responsible for all scheduling of orchestral stage managers and orchestral production staff, extensive interaction with high-profile guest artists as well as student performers, and planning and executing all production elements for any performance or rehearsal taking place in the Benedict Music Tent or Harris Hall. This position interfaces very closely with all other AMFS departments (opera, orchestra managers, librarians, house management, facilities, artistic, development, and operations) and attends weekly operations logistics meetings.

Qualifications: BA/BFA in Technical Theatre or Stage Management with 2-5 years experience in production management or stage management in a professional orchestral, opera, or theater organization. The ideal candidate will have a proven history of effectively managing a production team while coordinating many events across several venues in a fast paced, summer festival environment. Candidates must have sensitivity to the needs of staff, guest artists, faculty, and student performers, and designers, and a proven ability to work well with others. Strong working knowledge of theatrical lighting, audio, and rigging highly encouraged, and experience with Vectorworks required. Knowledge of classical music is preferred. Candidates must be independently motivated, have a keen attention to detail, be able to lift up to 50 lbs. and climb stairs and ladders comfortably.  Additionally, candidates must have a valid driver’s license for the summer of 2018.  A DMV check will be conducted for the candidate hired.

Duration: May 29 - August 31, 2018

Compensation: Weekly salary plus seasonal housing
