By PlaybillArts Staff
Former opera singer Paul Potts, an international sensation since winning "Britain's Got Talent" in 2007, brings his current "Passione" U.S. Tour to the East Coast July 9 with a performance at New York's historic Beacon Theatre.
Potts and a 12-piece orchestra (including brass and winds) will perform a variety of arias including "E Lucevan Le Stelle" of Puccini's 'Tosca;' "La Prima Volta," a beautiful and Grammy-winning song originally sung by Roberta Flack and cited by Potts as one of the most passionate songs from the album; and "Il Canto," a melodic song featuring a harp that Potts guarantees "will remain in your head long after the song ends." Prior to gaining worldwide recognition, Potts performed with Bath Opera and Southgate Opera Company. For the New York performance Potts will welcome opening acts Neal E. Boyd (winner of "America's Got Talent") and Canadian Giorgia Fumanti. Tickets are priced from $63.50 - $75.00. The Beacon Theatre is located in Manhattan at 2124 Broadway (at 74th Street). For tickets visit the box office or surf to the Beacon Theatre. **It took a flick of a coin to change Paul Potts' entire life. Heads he entered "Britain's Got Talent," Tails he didn't. The rest, as they say is history. Winner of Best International Artist 2009 at the prestigious Echo Awards in Germany, Paul has also become a YouTube sensation and to date has had over 74 million hits charting his meteoric rise to fame.
