Maazel Honored By Mayor's Office: June 24 Proclaimed "Maestro Lorin Maazel Day"

Following the June 24 performance of his final program as head of the New York Philharmonic, Lorin Maazel received honors from both Orchestra and the Mayor's Office.

The Philharmonic named Maazel an Honorary Member of the
 Philharmonic-Symphony Society of New York. He was further honored by with a Proclamation from the Office of the Mayor of the City of New York, which proclaimed June 24 as "Maestro Lorin Maazel Day."

Maazel ends his tenure conducting sold-out performances of Mahler's Symphony of a Thousand June 24-27.  For information, visit New York Philharmonic.
