This year's New York Philharmonic New Year's Eve gala will be broadcast live by PBS on December 31 at 8 pm. Featured will be soprano Audra McDonald, singing popular songs by Duke Ellington, George Gershwin, Harold Arlen and others with members of the New York Philharmonic conducted by Ted Sperling.

Live From Lincoln Center, hosted by Beverly Sills, is currently in its 31st broadcast season and is produced by Lincoln Center's John Goberman and directed by Kirk Browning. The programs remain the only series of live telecast performances on American television today.

Audra McDonald is a Juilliard-trained soprano who has been praised both as a singer and actress.
