As the revival of J. B. Priestley’s 1938 play Time and the Conways celebrates its opening on Broadway October 10, critics have begun to file their reviews. The Roundabout Theatre Company production is directed by Tony winner Rebecca Taichman, with a cast led by Oscar nominee Elizabeth McGovern.
The Broadway staging—the first since its premiere in 1938—began performances September 14 at the American Airlines Theatre.

McGovern plays Mrs Conway, who, at the top of the play, is throwing a lavish birthday party for her six children in 1919 Britain. The story then picks up 19 years later, when all of their lives have changed unimaginably.
McGovern is joined by Steven Boyer as Ernest, Anna Camp as Hazel, Gabriel Ebert as Alan, Charlotte Parry as Kay, Matthew James Thomas as Robin, Anna Baryshnikov as Carol, Brooke Bloom as Madge, Alfredo Narciso as Gerald, and Cara Ricketts as Joan.
