On June 26, 74 high school students took to the stage at Broadway’s Minskoff Theatre for the 2017 National High School Musical Theatre Awards (known as the Jimmy Awards). Watch highlights from their performances—which feature songs from the Broadway musicals The Phantom of the Opera, Into the Woods, Fiddler on the Roof, Carousel, Sweeney Todd, Beauty and the Beast, In the Heights, and more—in the following videos.
As previously announced, high school students Sofia Deler—who performed as Woman One from Songs for a New World—and Tony Moreno—who performed as Don Quixote (Cervantes) from Man of La Mancha—earned the top honors for the evening. Both were awarded a $10,000 scholarship, while the remaining finalists received $2,500 toward their education.
