National Tour News Watch Rob McClure and the Tour Cast of Something Rotten! Perform ’God, I Hate Shakespeare’ The tour of the Tony-nominated musical comedy currently plays Los Angeles’ Ahmanson Theatre.

Cast members from the national tour of Something Rotten! appeared on Good Day LA to celebrate the musical's current engagement at Center Theatre Group's Ahmanson Theatre. The Los Angeles engagement continues through December 31.

Watch Chaplin Tony nominee Rob McClure, who plays Nick Bottom, lead the company in the number “God, I Hate Shakespeare” in the video above.

The musical comedy tells the story of brothers Nick and Nigel Bottom, two playwrights stuck in the shadow of Renaissance “rock star” Will Shakespeare (played on tour by Adam Pascal). When a soothsayer foretells the next big thing in theatre involves singing, dancing, and acting at the same time, the Bottom brothers set out to write the world's very first musical.

Directed and choreographed by Tony winner Casey Nicholaw, Something Rotten! features music and lyrics by Grammy winner Wayne Kirkpatrick and Golden Globe nominee Karey Kirkpatrick and a book by Karey Kirkpatrick and author John O'Farrell.
