WATCH: Emmy Nominee Jackie Hoffman Says She’ll Accept the Award for Her Competitors | Playbill

Film & TV News WATCH: Emmy Nominee Jackie Hoffman Says She’ll Accept the Award for Her Competitors In this sketch video, Feud’s Jackie Hoffman calls the women in her category with an offer for Emmy night.

Though she’s currently starring in Broadway’s Charlie and the Chocolate Factory as Mrs. Teavee, Jackie Hoffman is running on a different awards circuit: the Primetime Emmys.

Nominated for her performance as Joan Crawford’s quiet housekeeper Mamacita in Feud: Bette and Joan, in this video from Variety, Hoffman “dialed” the five actors she is competing against in the Outstanding Supporting Actress in a Limited Series or Movie category.

“Hello, is this Miss Regina King?” she jokes in the video above. “This is Jackie Hoffman from Feud. Of course, I noticed you’re nominated for an Emmy, and in case you're not able to accept your award, I'm able to accept your reward on your behalf.”

Hoffman proceeds to call each of her competitors—Laura Dern, Shailene Woodley, Michelle Pfeiffer, even her Feud co-star Judy Davis.

“Judy Davis, Jackie Hoffman from Feud. Mamacita? We worked together. I was on the show. You were so in character you couldn't notice, but I was standing right next to you for three months.”

The video parodies when Joan Crawford notoriously phoned Bette Davis’ Oscar competitors, offering to accept the award on their behalf should they win. (Davis had been nominated for What Ever Happened to Baby Jane? in which Crawford and Davis co-starred.) Though Davis was favored, Anne Bancroft won and Crawford accepted the award on her behalf, upstaging Davis.

In addition to Charlie and the Chocolate Factory, Hoffman has been a Broadway stage favorite for years, having played Mrs. Pingleton in Hairpsray, Caliope/Aphrodite in Xanadu, Grandma in The Addams Family, and Mrs. Dilly in On The Town.
