Longtime theatre publicists Molly Barnett and Chelsea Nachman have announced the launch of a private boutique public relations firm, grapevine public relations. Having worked on such shows as Dear Evan Hansen, Kinky Boots, and more, the two will continue to specialize in theatrical talent PR.
The firm launches with clients including Tony Award winners Jessie Mueller, Billy Porter, Jeanine Tesori, and Blair Brown, whom Barnett and Nachman have worked with previously. They will also provide theatrical publicity for Tony winners Cyndi Lauper, Benj Pasek and Justin Paul, as well as musical theatre songwriters Kait Kerrigan and Brian Lowdermilk.
Having worked at Rick Miramontez’s DKC/O&M for a combined 17 years, the pair will continue to work with the company on Broadway’s Dear Evan Hansen.
“After years of being mentored by Rick Miramontez and working with some of Broadway’s finest, we’re thrilled to begin this new chapter of our careers,” Barnett and Nachman said in a statement. “Our experience as publicists through many successful Awards Season campaigns, coupled with our hands-on approach to working with artists, makes us uniquely qualified in this venture, and we’re very excited to work with Broadway talent in a new way.”
“Molly and Chelsea are great forces in our industry, and it’s been a joy working with them over the years,” said Miramontez. “I look forward to continuing our association in interesting new ways, and know that grapevine will be a huge success.”
Barnett and Nachman have long been a power duo in the industry and spearheaded campaigns for Broadway and Off-Broadway shows including Beautiful, Fun Home, The Normal Heart, and Peter and the Starcatcher.
