Off-Broadway News The Skivvies Will Join the Cast of Desperate Measures for a Special Encore Lauren Molina, who co-stars in the Off-Broadway show, will switch to her alter ego November 14.

The underwear-clad cabaret duo known as The Skivvies, consisting of actor-musicians Lauren Molina and Nick Cearley, will make a special concert appearance after the November 14 performance of the Off-Broadway musical Desperate Measures.

Molina plays the role of Bella Rose in the musical Western at the York Theatre Company at Saint Peter’s on Manhattan’s upper East Side. For the concert, The Skivvies will be joined onstage by special guests James Snyder (Cry Baby), Leslie McDonel (American Idiot), and the rest of the cast of Desperate Measures (Emma Degerstedt, Gary Marachek, Conor Ryan, Peter Saide, and Nick Wyman).

Based on Shakespeare’s Measure for Measure, with its action relocated to the Wild West, Desperate Measures has book and lyrics by Peter Kellogg (Anna Karenina) and music by David Friedman (Scandalous). It was directed and choreographed by Bill Castellino and with music direction by David Hancock Turner.

The duo have made their mark at New York City clubs and cabarets and have begun performing around the U.S. Molina has appeared on Broadway in Rock of Ages, Sweeney Todd, and Candide. Cearley has appeared in Pageant and A Midsummer Night's Dream. Click here for more information on the Skivvies.

Desperate Measures will be performed at 7 PM that night only, followed by special Desperate Measures-themed cocktails and the 65-minute Skivvies show at 10 PM. The concert is free to those who purchase a full-price ticket to Desperate Measures for that evening’s performance, priced at $67.50. Concert-only tickets are available at $25. York Theatre Company Member tickets are available at $15. Tickets may be purchased by calling (212) 935-5820, or by ordering online at Yorktheatre.org.
