The event is the annual gala of the Trevor Project, the organization focused on ending suicide among LGBTQ youth. Chenoweth will accept the organization’s Icon Award; filmmaker-designer Tom Ford will get its Hero Award. The event will be held at the Beverly Hilton Hotel. Tickets, which cost $500 to $1,000, can be ordered here.

Bean will headline the event alongside Grammy-nominated band Garbage. Special Tony Award recipient Carol Burnett was previously announced to take part, along with Armie Hammer, Gina Rodriguez, Trace Lysette, and Imagine Dragons’ Dan Reynolds. The band Neon Trees will perform a full concert at the official after party. The gala will also include a performance of the song “Stranger” from the Broadway-bound Trevor the Musical. Fresh off a successful run in Chicago, producer Mark Woods will introduce the song. With book and lyrics by Dan Collins and music by Julianne Wick Davis, the musical is a 1981-set coming-of-age story.

Bean made her debut in the original cast of Hairspray and recently appeared in the pre-Broadway production of the new musical Beaches as CeeCee Bloom.

Among other services, The Trevor Project operates a hotline for young people experiencing suicidal thoughts, at 1-866-488-7386.

Despite the seriousness of The Trevor Project’s mission, organizers are promising "an irreverent evening of music and comedy."

The Trevor Project CEO and executive director Amit Paley called Chenoweth and Ford “true role models for LGBTQ young people and allies.” He said, “Kristin has consistently and unequivocally voiced her support of LGBTQ equality and is a longtime supporter of The Trevor Project. The awareness and support Tom and Kristin bring to The Trevor Project's programs will help us save even more LGBTQ young lives.”

Chenoweth, whose Broadway roles include the original Glinda in Wicked, and who currently co-stars on TV’s American Gods, said, “I can't believe I’m sharing company with the great artist Tom Ford. We both have similar beliefs and come from a place that loves everybody. I've tried to show it to the world through my music, and Mr. Ford certainly does it through his designs and filmmaking. I can't wait to share such a special evening.”

Theatre-related honorees at previous TrevorLIVE galas include Ian McKellen, Darren Criss, Cheyenne Jackson, Bean, Queen Latifah, and Amy Poehler.
