Cabaret & Concert News Rebecca Luker Takes Westchester Back to Broadway’s Golden Age November 11 The three-time Tony Award nominee will sing songs by Jerome Kern, Jule Styne, and Stephen Sondheim.

Three-time Tony Award nominee Rebecca Luker travels to the Emelin Theatre in suburban Westchester County, New York, November 11 at 8 PM to perform Broadway melodies by songwriters Jerome Kern, Jule Styne, Sheldon Harnick, Stephen Sondheim and others, accompanied on piano by Joseph Thalken, and on bass by Dick Sarpola.

The soprano earned her Tony nominations for her performances Mary Poppins, Show Boat, and The Music Man. Other Broadway performances include Maria in a revival of The Sound of Music, Claudia in Nine, and Lily in the original production of The Secret Garden. Her most recent Broadway appearance was as a replacement for the mother in Fun Home. She also has performed at Carnegie Hall, New York City Opera, The Café Carlyle, The Kennedy Center, and the White House. On October 30 she sang the National Anthem at the Knicks game at Madison Square Garden in New York City.

Looking ahead, Luker is scheduled to return to New York City in the new year to take part in We'll Do It Again: The Songs of Skip Kennon, a salute to the composer of Time and Again and Herringbone. For the February 12, 2018, concert at Feinstein‘s/54 Below, she will be joined by Chuck Cooper, Jenn Colella, Rachel Bay Jones, Howard McGillin, Jessica Molaskey and others.

Luker, McGillin, and Jones have been a special guest performers on Playbill’s Broadway on the High Seas cruises.
