London’s National Theatre has announced casting for its upcoming production of Annie Baker’s John. The mysterious new play from the Pulitzer Prize-winning playwright debuted Off-Broadway to critical acclaim in 2015, and will have its U.K. premiere in January 2018.

James Macdonald will direct a cast made up of Marylouise Burke, Tom Mothersdale, Anneika Rose, and June Watson. Performances are scheduled to begin January 17 and will run in repertory through March 3 in the Dorfman Theatre.

John takes place at a bed and breakfast in Gettysburg, Pennsylvania. The story follows a young couple struggling to save their relationship, while countless, haunting objects look on.

The National also announced casting for the world premiere of The Great Wave by Francis Turnly in the spring. Set in Japan and North Korea, a story of family tragedy takes on global political dimensions in the new thriller.

The co-production with Tricycle Theatre will be directed by Indhu Rubasingham, and will feature a company made up of Kae Alexander, Rosalind Chao, Tuyen Do, Vincent Lai, Kwong Loke, Frances Mayli McCann, Kirsty Rider, Leo Wan, and David Yip.
