Off-Broadway News LAByrinth Barn Series to Feature New Plays by Stephen Adly Guirgis and More The Off-Broadway company announces the selections for its free, annual play reading series.

LAByrinth Theater Company's upcoming Annual Barn Series will feature free readings of new plays by members of the ensemble company, including Pulitzer Prize winner Stephen Adly Guirgis (Jesus Hopped the 'A' Train) and Emmy nominees Stephen Belber (Match) and Cusi Cram (A Lifetime Burning).

The readings will be presented at the Cherry Lane Theatre January 22-28, 2018. The complete schedule will be available in early January, with reservations opening to the public January 15.

“We’re really excited to announce an all-LAB Member line-up for this year’s Barn Series,” commented John Ortiz, LAByrinth ’s artistic director. “The work that we’re doing responds to where we are in the world now, in this moment, and our complex, challenging time. This free reading series is a key part of our new play development process, and it is a privilege to invite our community to be part of that with us.”

The series will present the following plays: Joan by Belber; an untitled play by Guirgis; Devil of Choice by Maggie Bofill; East of West Town by Cram; The Dancing Sailor by Bob Glaudini; Oh, Maria by actor Yetta Gottesman; Nimbus in a Tin Can by Scott Hudson; The Corridor by Brett C. Leonard; Girl in Window by Florencia Lozano; Frederick Douglass and The Fallen Angels by Mel Nieves; Hopping on Rooftops by founding member Paula Pizzi;The Last 24 by actor and director Felix Solis; and The Seven Sisters of Socorro Sanchez by Luna Lauren Velez, who is making her playwriting debut.
