ABC is teaming up with Frozen and The Good Place star Kristen Bell on a new TV series titled Encore, which will reunite former high school class mates to perform their high school musical one more time.
Executive produced by Bell, the series is currently seeking out cast members from high school musicals in the early 1990s and 2000s.
An air-date for Encore has not been announced. Applications for future episodes are being accepted through December 4.

Bell, whose roots are in musical theatre, starred as Dorothy in her high school production of The Wizard of Oz. She appeared on Broadway in The Adventures of Tom Sawyer, and The Crucible, as well as the starring role of Mary Lane in the Off-Broadway musical Reefer Madness, a role she recreated in the film adaptation. She voiced the role of Anna in the Disney hit film Frozen.
After Fox hit gold with its high school-set musical series Glee in 2009, other major networks are also exploring what projects they can mine from this dramatically fertile setting that has major nostalgia factor—especially for theatre kids.
Earlier this year NBC gave a full series order for Rise, the new TV drama from Hamilton producer Jeffrey Seller and Friday Night Lights’ Jason Katims. The series is inspired by the true story of high school theatre teacher Lou Volpe.
