Two-time Tony Award nominee and two-time Golden Globe Award winner Kathleen Turner brings her trademark husky alto to bear on the world of cabaret, making her nightclub debut with the appropriately titled Finding My Voice September 25 at Philadelphia Theatre Company in Philadelphia, Pennsylvania.
She is promising classic tunes from the American songbook, accompanied by Mark Janas and her band, and interwoven with stories from her life and career. The show is directed by Andy Gale and designed by Ed McCarthy.
Turner, who supplied the voice of temptress Jessica Rabbit in the film Who Framed Roger Rabbit, was nominated for Tonys in 1990 for playing Maggie in Cat on a Hot Tin Roof and in 2005 for her performance as Martha in Who's Afraid of Virginia Woolf? opposite Bill Irwin.
She will give two performances of Finding My Voice, 7 and 9 PM, at the Suzanne Roberts Theatre (Broad and Lombard Streets) in Philadelphia. Tickets can be ordered by calling (215) 985-0420 or visiting PhiladelphiaTheatreCompany.org.
She is scheduled to repeat the performance in San Francisco, California, in October:
