Downtown Race Riot recalls a summer day in New York City in 1976 when a mob of young men descended on Washington Square Park and attacked people of color. In a cramped apartment in the Village, as the riot rages, a single mother (Sevigny), her son, and his best friend wrestle to find their place in the conflict.
