Tony Award nominee Max von Essen celebrates his birthday January 11.
Von Essen made his Broadway debut in the original Broadway production of Les Misérables. Since then he has starred in Jesus Christ Superstar, Evita, the national tour of Falsettos, and more. Von Essen received a Tony nomination for creating the role of Henri Baurel in An American in Paris.
He was last seen onstage as Frank Gumm in Paper Mill Playhouse's production of Chasing Rainbows: The Road to Oz.
