Director Frank Oz revisits his 1986 film Little Shop of Horrors, an adaptation of the Alan Menken-Howard Ashman Off-Broadway musical, in the video above. The movie musical returns to movie theatres in a special re-release from Fathom Events later this month.
In the video above, Oz talks specifically about working with comedians John Candy, Bill Murray, and Steve Martin on the film—and which of those comedy legends strayed from Howard Ashman's screenplay.
The Director's Cut edition of the film will be used for the special screening, which features the rarely-seen original ending of the movie. This alternate ending follows the darker plot of the stage version, though the film initially released with a much happier ending to the story.
