In August, Tony winner Ben Platt took to Twitter in a push to get multi-platinum star Beyoncé to attend a performance of Dear Evan Hansen.

The tweeting (and the warm-ups) seem to have worked, as Platt shared a photo on September 14—just weeks after his initial tweet—of him with Beyoncé sharing a moment backstage, accompanied by the simple description: "It happened."

This marks the latest Tony-winning Best Musical the star of the Dreamgirls film adaptation has attended; in 2015, Beyoncé and husband Jay Z went to Hamilton, after which she told Jonathan Groff she would steal his walk used in his performance as King George III.

Platt will take his final bow in Dear Evan Hansen November 19; succeeding him will be The Real O'Neals star Noah Galvin, with Hello, Dolly!'s Taylor Trensch assuming the title role in January 2018.
