New Yiddish Rep will present Clifford Odets’ 1935 drama Awake and Sing! beginning November 25 at the Theater at the 14th Street Y, 344 East 14th Street.

Awake and Sing! is the story of the Bergers, a lower-middle-class, three-generation Jewish family living in a Bronx apartment during the Depression. A Yiddish version of Awake and Sing! was produced by the Federal Theatre Project in 1938, and it is this translation by Chaver Paver that will be performed with English supertitles.
The production will have set and lighting design by Nathan Roden with costume design by Gail Cooper-Hecht.
Show times are Tuesdays through Saturdays at 7:30 PM with matinees Saturdays and Sundays at 2 PM. Performances continue through December 24.
Tickets are $45 and are available through NewYiddishRep.org or by calling (646) 395-4310.
