An all-Irish cast will join Aidan Turner in Michael Grandage’s summer production of Martin McDonagh’s The Lieutenant of Inishmore, which will open at the West End's Noël Coward Theatre July 4 following previews that begin June 23.

Turner (The Plough and The Stars, The Clinic) will star as Mad Padraic, a terrorist deemed too violent to be a member of the IRA. He will be joined by Denis Conway as Donny, Will Irvine as Christy, Brian Martin as James, Daryl McCormack as Brendan, Julian Moore-Cook as Joey, Charlie Murphy as Mairead, and Chris Walley Davey.

The play, which premiered at the Royal Shakespeare Company in 2001, will continue through September 8.

The Lieutenant of Inishmore will join Grandage’s production of John Logan’s Red, which begins performances May 4 at the Wyndham's Theatre with Alfred Molina and Alfred Enoch. Grandage has also helmed Disney's stage adaptation of Frozen, opening on Broadway this season.

The two London productions have over 40,000 seats at £10, continuing the company's access policy and its commitment to developing new audiences.
