On December 1, the cast of Broadway’s Tony-winning revival of Hello, Dolly! surprised leading lady Bette Midler in honor of her 72nd birthday.

The company led the house of the Shubert Theatre in “Happy Birthday” before a champagne toast and giant birthday cake.

The custom cake was decorated with the album cover artwork of The New Broadway Cast Recording of Hello, Dolly!, which recently received a 2017 Grammy Award nomination for Best Musical Theater Album.

Midler won the 2017 Tony Award for her performance as Dolly Gallagher Levi.
