BroadwayHD, the fast-growing theatre streaming service, has added a number of West End productions to its fall and winter lineup. In addition to the previously announced addition of the London production of The Wind and the Willows (debuting November 23), BroadwayHD will also stream Tim Rice’s musical version of From Here to Eternity December 7, and the play The Railway Children December 14.

Each of the West End shows was filmed live and has been produced for television by BroadwayHD. The expanded programming marks the beginning of a long-term strategy of international acquisitions, with more productions to be announced in the coming weeks.

“We are giving people access to live theatre that they may otherwise never see. It’s likely many of our viewers will never make it to Broadway, let alone the West End,“ comments Stewart F. Lane, co-founder of BroadwayHD. “BroadwayHD is a platform that can provide access to theatre from all over the world and hopefully ignite a passion for those who have never experienced these types of performances before.“

The news follows BroadwayHD’s new partnerships with Amazon and Ericsson, as well as a re-brand that includes a drop in pricing. In October the on-demand service became available for $8.99 a month—a decrease from the previous $14.99.

BroadwayHD’s on-demand line-up includes over 200 theatre productions and exclusive live-stream content. Some of the titles available include Roundabout Theatre Company's Holiday Inn and She Loves Me, Falsettos, and the 2017 revival of Present Laughter.
